David Max Brown

David Max Brown

David was born in South Africa in 1959 but in 1962 went to the UK when his family was forced into exile. His first degree was a Zoology(BSc. Hons). Besides BSc. he also studied Advanced Level Producer Course and Producer Mentor/Trainer Course at NFVF. Between 1983-6 he worked as a photographer for the ANC (The African National Congress) at their school in Morogoro, Tanzania. In 1986 the ANC ponsored him to study Film and Television at York University, in Canada. David then worked in the UK- (1988-90) as Production manager and Researcher. In 1990 he moved to Swaziland where he opened Eye to Eye TV productions. He returned to South Africa in 1998 opening Maxi-D TV Productions and produced several award winning documentaries and fiction films (shorts and TV) , and TV Series such as ‘Hillside’(52 eps) , ‘One Way’(22 eps), and ‘Skeem Saam’(13 eps/most popular tv drama in SA in 2011).

Moshidi Motshegwa

Moshidi Motshegwa is a South African actress best known for her leading role as Denzela Ledwaba in the SABC2 police drama series Zero Tolerance.S
Motshegwa has appeared in numerous television shows including Friends Indeed, Gaabo Motho, Flat 27, Generations, Justice For All, Joburg Blues, Behind the Badge, Ke Nnako, SOS, Hillside, The Lab and Jozi H. She has acted in a movies like Drum, Zinzi, Hijack Stories, Critical Assignment andThe African Story. She made a guest appearance in episode of the American medical drama series ER entitled "Makemba".
In 2008 she was to have voiced the role of Miriam in an animated television series called Speedy, based on the comic strip by cartoonist Tim Mostert which appears in the South African tabloid The Daily Sun.
She played the leading role of Uhuru Mokoena, the daughter of a wealthy Xhosa doctor in the SABC2 mini-series Noah's Ark. Moshidi is also one of the judges of the SABC1 reality competition talent search So You Think You're Funny!, since November 2008.

She has written for both local and international TV, with her most notable work being on the multi-award winning HBO children’s series The Magic Cellar. A versatile writer with a keen interest in the humanitarian issues facing Africa, the idea for the feature film “The Short Cut” came about in the two years she spent with Zimbabwean refugees as a researcher for the investigative journalism series, Special Assignment.
